In this episode of the Built for the Trades podcast, host Dan Dowdy welcomes Brant Martin with Martins Rod and Customs. Dan and Brant talk about bringing in the next generation of skilled tradesmen and women and how to equip them for success in their careers to come!
“How you do anything is how you do everything.”
Your mission as leaders in the trades is to help encourage and guide these kids into who they will become and carry on the knowledge we have learned.
In this episode, you’ll learn…
- The struggle of bringing in the younger generation into the trades and how to equip them with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.
- Every successful and skilled tradesman (or tradesperson) has to start somewhere, and we have to remember that not every kid has that experience unless you give them that chance.
- Taking the time to teach and not expecting the knowledge to come creates an inclusive and safe environment for them to build confidence and understand the need to keep learning.
“ You cannot be the smartest guy in the room because if you are, then you need to hire someone smarter or change rooms.”
